The Before & After area is devoted
to showing you how things you see can be transformed and shaped
to create something new and effective. The concept is very simple
show a graphic, website, logo or ad before, then take a look at
what I transform it into. I get inspirational ideas from a lot
of different places such as billboards, advertisements, magazines,
artwork and websites. Hopefully you will get some inspiration
from stopping by here. Check in often, I am working on new material
constantly. If you get inspiration from the material below. Let
me know, Iwould love to see your "before and after," work also.

One of my favorites here. Leah Remini is just HOT! I changed
the background using the Hue slider with some Saturation.
Then I faded a Paul Stanley emblem into the wall. Just turned
down the Opacity and erased some of the overlaps off of
Leah's body. A tough job, but someone had to do it! Added
a quick tattoo on the shoulder and applied the greasepaint.
The text was done using an effect I created in the One
Clickers Styles for Photoshop set for sale here on Digital
Tropic.

Buffy the Demon Slayer was the image I used to do the Tutorial
on how to make your own Celebrity in KISS Makeup. Actually
pretty easy on this one. I change the tone of the background
to more of a red. Put a Gene Simmons face against the background
and applied the famous makeup.

This one actually turned out to be a lot of fun to do.
I started off by changing the Levels to give the overall
picture a better colorful look. I used the clone tool to
get rid of the Maxim info at the top. I then just cropped
off the stuff at the bottom. I then placed the Ace Frehley
poster behind the couch using masking over the corner of
the couch. I then added the album on the couch and guitar
leaning up against the wall. Pretty easy stuff. I then changed
Jessica's outfit to be a dark blue instead of black to fit
more with the Ace theme. I then proceeded to paint the face.
All I can say is what a hotty.

A couple of cool techniques were used in this one. As
you can see I changed the background to purple. I did
this duplicating the original layer then using Colorize
in the Hue Adjustment tool. Then I just used the eraser
brush with to erase the top layer and let the purple shine
through. Looks as if there is a purple light on her backside.
I also used the Overlay on the tattoos so they look like
skin. Overall a very easy transformation. I wasn't totally
happy with the makeup, but its ok enough to use for the
KISS Freaks feature.

Really another very fun one. Is she a knockout or what?
Anyway, besides the makeup I removed the microphone and
replaced it with an Ace Frehley Epiphone guitar. Gave it
a little electricity using Xenofex filter. I also removed
the background using the Extract feature in Photoshop to
eliminate it and the wording. I then created a similar and
more technical looking background and created new lettering.
The parts where the hands overlap the guitar were done using
a mask, copy and paste. Then I just got in close to clean
it up.

This one was a lot of fun. I changed the color to a brighter
blue really make the image stand out by using the Brightness/Contrast
function. I then created the makeup and added some depth
to the face. Then for the lettering I used the same technique
that I used in the Neon
Text Tutorial on this site. I think it turned out rather
well.

Not a whole lot was done to this one. Basically just added
the makeup and a name title at the bottom. Mariah rocks
without a lot of work.

This hot photo of the stars of X-Files seemed like the
perfect fit for the Celebrities in KISS Makeup feature at
KISS Freaks. Not my best work, but I think its ok. I was
pretty happy with Gillian, but David I feel could have been
better. Anyway, after changing the background to give it
more color I began to transform each actor. Nothing really
special here just a makeup job.

James Gandolfini is the star of the current hit series
on HBO, The Sopranos. Again another image for the KISS Freaks
site feature, Celebrities in KISS Makeup. I really kept
only one thing from the original image to the left, the
actor himself. All of the rest I just recreated in Photoshop
6. Not very difficult at all.

Cindy Margolis was the star for the March 2001 Celebrities
in KISS Makeup at KISS Freaks. Cut the background &
recolored the outfit to resemble a more gold look. Then
we took the cover of KISS Hot In the Shade album from 1990
and used the Spinx in the background. After giving the background
a little texture there was nothing to do expect add Cindy's
incorrectly spelled name. Yeah I know I spelled it wrong.
I will correct it soon.

Nicole Kidman was the victim of the February 2001 version
of Celebrities in KISS Makeup for KISS Freaks. I really
liked the original picture, so I thought I could turn it
into something cool for the Celebs feature. Removed the
background, painted her up and added a few graphics. What
a hotty!

The new Charlies Angels sparked this idea. Another one
for the Celebrities in KISS Makeup at KISS Freaks. The idea
is I wanted to combine a couple of their movie posters to
create a cool image. The best picture I could find included
the Producer. So I thought I would take him out and put
me in. The KISS Freaks Angels!

Jennifer Love Hewitt was another of the Celebrities in
KISS Makeup I did for my KISS Freaks site. This picture
lacked the color and impact I wanted. So I made the background
a brighter red. Her dress color kinda sucked too. So I changed
that to green. Over all I changed about all of the colors.
Of course I added the KISS makeup also. I think it turned
out great. One of the first ones I did.

Carmen Electra is one of the Celebrities in KISS Makeup
I did for my feature at my KISS Freaks site. As you can
see before is a very plain boring Carmen. If thats possible!
:) Then on the right she is transformed into a major KISS
fan. Not bad huh?

The before bulldog clipart was found on
Art Today. Great site by the way. The after on the right
is after some editing in Photoshop. My idea, make him look
bigger and friendlier. So I flipped him, made him smile
and gave him some highlights to make him look more animated.
Once completed I used the graphic for a website interface.
