Tutorial 5 Gold Texture

Requirements: Corel Photopaint 9
The Project:  To create a texture with a rough gold texture.

A gold or rough texture can have a lot of uses on the web or in print.  Every time Corel updates to a new version of Photopaint, they succeed at making graphics editing a lot easier.  With Photopaint 9, you can create a gold texture very quickly.

Lets start out by creating a 200 by 200 pixel image, 24bit RGB with a white background.  To do this click File> New.

Double click your Fill tool on your toolbar.  Now click the Texture Fill button.  Click edit.

Choose Samples from the drop down menu.  Find Clouds Midday in the texture list and click.  Now we need to change the colors to get the effect we want.  I chose an orange and gold mix.  Just because I want this to very bright.

We need to make the texture a little grainy now by adding some Noise.  So lets click Effects> Noise> Add Noise.  Use the settings Noise Type Gaussian, Level 40, Density 60, Color Mode Intensity and click OK.

You should now have a texture similar to Picture 5-2 below.
