Sometimes you need a little something different.
Well that is what this tutorial is all about.
This tutorial will help you create a metal ball that
can be used for many things. If you don't want

Lets start off with by creating a new image which is
4 inches by 4 inches and 72 dpi |

Now click the Marquee Tool and choose the circle.
Make a selection that fills most of the image, like
the image in Image 9-1 Now click the New Layer
button on the Layers Palette. |

Click the Gradient Tool and choose Radial Gradient.
Change the colors to those similar to Image 9-2 and
click ok. With the Radial Gradient tool selected,
click the upper left hand corner of your circle selection
and drag to the lower right. This should create
a highlighted ball look. |

Click the New Layer button on the Layers Palette. Click
M or click the Marquee tool. Choose the Elliptical
Marquee and create a circle surrounding the highlight
part of the ball. Now click L or click the Lasso
Tool and create a shape similar to the one in Image
9-3. Make sure your Foreground color is white
and click Alt and Backspace. This will fill the
selections with white. |

Click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and choose 20
as the Radius and click ok. You now have a Metal
Ball like in Image 9-4. |
